College sports betting: Alabama at no. 14 Florida

For many sports fans, college sports betting between Alabama vs Florida sounds like it involves a SEC football showdown. Both schools have won three of the past five BCS championships.

However, Tuesday’s basketball game in Gainesville represents a share of the SEC regular-season championship for Florida. The 14th-ranked Florida Gators (22-6, 11-3 SEC) hold a – 6 point spread and look for their eight straight win against the Crimson Tide (19-9, 11-3 SEC) at home.

Additionally, Alabama has lost eight straight games against nationally ranked team since 2004.

Alabama is ranked fifth in the nation in scoring defense, holding opponents to 58.2 points per game while scoring 68.5 points. The Gators average 70.9 points per game while holding opponents to 61.8 points.

Florida’s guards carry the bulk of their offensive firepower. Erving Walker scores 14.6 points per contest while Kenny Boynton adds 13.5 points on average. Forward Chandler Parsons averages 11.1 points and 7.7 rebounds.

On the other hand, Alabama’s frontcourt has been the key to winning games. Forward JaMychal Green, who stands at 6’8”, scores 16.1 points and grabs 7.4 rebounds per game, while swingman Tony Mithcell, who stands at 6’6”, adds 15.7 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Trevor Releford chips in 10.3 points and 3.4 assists.

At home, the Gators are used to chomping down their visitors, holding a 13-3 record. Alabama is 4-5 on the road this season. Tip-off is at 7pm EST. No. 14 Florida hold a – 6 spread in today’s college sports betting opportunity.
