College helps heroes & hands on train

The College Of Dupage (sometimes referred to as C.O.D.) is coming together for the community, helping local students in the surrounding area with hands on experience. New improved facilities with real life working skills and situations include: hotel for hospitality, restaurant for culinary, hospital rooms for health/emergency disasters, engineering/ electronics for new technologies, and advanced labs for the sciences.

The Project Access Program provides Veterans needing help with additional education and careers. For scholarships made possible by the College Of Dupage Foundation please visit http://www.cod.edu/projectaccess . Many local community members can also help out by volunteering for adults in need of reading, writing, and mathematics, for consideration and participation please visit http://www.cod.edu/academics/conted/basic/volunteer.aspx .

Students are put through grueling life/ death exercises and re-enactments. Emergency simulations are given to students for experience, in hopes that it will prepare them for real life events in the future.
