College football scores Week 8 coverage begins with Miami vs. North Carolina. This almost turned into the first college football upset of the weekend, though, as the Tar Heels nearly pulled off a huge win Thursday night (Oct. 17). No. 10 Miami escaped just barely, pulling out a 27-23 win on two Dallas Crawford touchdowns late in the fourth quarter. Crawford would finish with 137 rushing yards on the night, helping the Hurricanes to a 6-0 record on the season.
The only other game from the FBS on Thursday was LA-Lafayette beating Western Kentucky 37-20 in a Sun Belt battle. Friday night (Oct. 18), though, holds a big game for No. 8 Louisville as they host 4-1 UCF. It's not a big game outside of the AAC, but it is certainly an important conference game that the Cardinals need to win in order to hold on to first place.
The biggest game from the NCAA schedule this week will be on Saturday (Oct. 19), with No. 3 Clemson vs. No. 5 Florida State. The game is going to be on ABC at 8 p.m. ET with this ACC battle taking center stage in the Week 8 college football scores. The winner will receive a lot of additional support in the Week 9 polls and notch a huge resume builder for the rest of the 2013 season.
Other games worth paying attention to on Saturday include No. 7 Texas A&M vs. No. 24 Auburn, No. 9 UCLA vs. No. 13 Stanford, and No. 14 Missouri vs. No. 22 Florida. No. 1 Alabama plays at home against 3-4 Arkansas and No. 2 Oregon is at home against 4-3 Washington State.
