Week 1 college football scores have provided several blowouts already. One of those lopsided Week 1 college football scores came from the Massachusetts vs. Wisconsin game. On Saturday (August 31), the No. 23 Wisconsin Badgers beat UMass 45-0 at home. The win put the Big Ten team on the right track to open up the season.
In some of the other Top 25 games, No. 2 Ohio State beat Buffalo 40-20, No. 6 South Carolina beat North Carolina 27-10, and No. 23 USC beat Hawaii 30-13. Despite sitting out Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel for the first half of its game against Rice, Texas A&M took a 28-21 lead at halftime. Manziel then completed a 23-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter to announce he that he was back. The Aggies rolled past Rice from that point.
Florida also took care of Toledo in an early game from Saturday, but many of the big name schools were scheduled to play later in the day. Some of those games include No. 1 Alabama vs. Virginia Tech, No. 3 Oregon vs. Nicholls State, No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 8 Clemson, and No. 12 LSU vs. No. 20 TCU. The latter two games are very important when it comes to the Week 2 rankings, especially if one of the teams easily handles a ranked opponent.
Many more Week 1 college football scores will come out on Saturday evening, with a couple potential upsets brewing in the night games. No. 19 Boise State travels to play the Washington Huskies and No. 22 Northwestern is on the road to play California. Those two games could be very interesting for fans to watch. The UW vs. BSU game is on FOX at 7 p.m. PT and the other game is at 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN2.
