The Florida Gators have been one of the most overrated teams in recent history. According to CBS Sports, the Gators are three point underdogs to the Missouri Tigers on Saturday. Would they have a chance to win if Missouri’s starting quarterback was playing? Of course, but this game looks like a recipe for disaster if you are a fan of the Missouri Tigers. Red shirt freshman Maty Mauk gets his first start against a tremendous defense.
Florida vs. Missouri
When: Saturday, October 19, 12:21 p.m.
Where: Faurot Field
TV: SEC TV
The Florida Gators have a tough defense and they’ll do plenty to make life miserable for Missouri’s restructured offense. It’s anyone’s guess how Maty Mauk will react to the defensive front of the Gators. At least he had a full week of practice to get ready.
For Missouri, this game may come down to their defense. They’ll need to force turnovers over the offensively challenged Gators.
Missouri has a chance to do something special this season, but it won’t happen if they don’t come out with the right attitude.
Missouri will probably have a couple trick plays ready for the Gators. Florida tackles so well and they fly to the ball. It’s hard to see much scoring out of both teams. Florida has held three opponents to single digits and the most points they’ve given up is 21 points.
A loss by Florida and they are out of the SEC East race. However, if they win, they’ll control their destiny for a conference title shot.
Missouri can really make a statement with a win in this position.

Somehow, Missouri will find a way to get a victory at home. It won’t be pretty offensively, but the Gators lack of offense will limit Florida’s ability to score enough. Watch for a big turnover late in the third quarter to change momentum.
