The AP poll released their rankings on Sunday after the carnage that took place over the weekend. In similar fashion to the viewing public, the voters were impressed with the Florida State Seminoles win. The Seminoles jumped over the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes after trouncing Clemson on their home turf. Still, it was not enough to get Jameis Winston and Florida State to jump the Oregon Ducks or Alabama Crimson Tide.
The SEC had a tremendous day or a horrible day depending on how you look at it. The conference was littered with upsets and it knocked a few BCS title contenders off their perch.
LSU (13), Texas A&M (14), and South Carolina (20) all dropped after last minute losses. Florida and Georgia have fallen completely out of the rankings after consecutive losses.
Even though the SEC had some favorites lose, they still placed two teams in the top five. Missouri remained undefeated and moved up all the way to number five. They are one spot higher than Baylor. Both teams are making their first appearance in the top 10.
Miami follows Baylor at seven and Stanford moved back up after their win over UCLA.
Clemson remains in the top 10 after their debacle against Florida State. Rounding out the top 10 is Texas Tech. The Red Raiders are undefeated at (7-0).
