For a college student, it's very tiring to study all the time. Once awhile, it's time to put down your textbooks and have some fun! Insidious: Chapter 2 is definitely a movie worth watching for college students. This PG-13 supernatural horror film directed by James Wan. is a sequel to the film Insidious released back in 2011. The film takes place after the events in the first film, continuing the story after Josh Lambert (Played by Patrick Wilson from The Conjuring) saves his son Dalton (Played by Ty Simpkins from Iron Man 3 ) from the spirit world the Further. Ghosts continue to haunt their house and Josh, who is suspected by the family members to be possessed.
The film has received mixed reviews. David Blaustein of ABC News wrote, "Wan creates with Insidious: Chapter 2 the type of palpable, ominous atmosphere horror fans crave." Robbie Collin of The Telegraph wrote, "the scares are mostly very scary indeed, and that means the film does its job." Conversely, Peter Hartlaub of San Francisco Chronicle wrote, "Insidious 2 is just more of Insidious, minus the element of surprise. "Bill Wine of CBS Philly wrote, "the awkwardly structured sequel lacks the confidence in its material and, instead of concentrating on sustaining the suspense, resorts to far more generic Boo! moments."
Overall, the reviews agree that Insidious: Chapter 2 is indeed scary, so if you are going to watch it this weekend with your friends, prepare to jump out of your seats and scream!
