The following is a list of the college basketball teams with the most wins who did not make the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

Just winning a lot of games is no guarantee for entry to the NCAA Tournament. Most of these teams did not beat any really good teams in 2014, and they all lost in their season ending conference tournaments, most in the championship games.

The one exception here is SMU. Larry Brown's team has four wins over 2014 NCAA Tournament teams but still did not get in. That is a joke, as is the fact that Louisville is a #4 seed. You really wonder if the selection committee members actually watch any games.

T-1. Southern Miss - 27 wins

Southern Miss won 27 games in 2014 (27-6) but did not get selected for the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Southern Miss played one really good team this season, and got waxed by Louisville, 69-38. The Golden Eagles lost to another big win team on this list in the Conference USA Tournament semifinals when they lost to Louisiana Tech, 88-70.

T-1 Toledo - 27 wins

The Toledo Rockets out of the MAC had 27 wins this season (27-6) but did not make the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Toledo played two major conference teams this season. They beat a bad Boston College team, and lost to Kansas by 10. The Rockets made the MAC Tournament championship game but lost to Western Michigan, 98-77.

T-1. Louisiana Tech - 27

Despite winning 27 games, including a 102-98 win over tourney team Oklahoma, Louisiana Tech (27-7) was not selected for the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Louisiana Tech lost to Tulsa, 69-60, in the Conference USA Tournament championship game.

4. Georgia State - 25

Georgia State had 25 wins, but lost to Vanderbilt, Alabama and Southern Miss this year, and lost in the Sun Belt Tournament to the Ragin' Cajuns from Louisiana-Lafayette in OT, 82-81. The Panthers (25-8) were done in because they had no wins over any top teams.

T-5. Green Bay - 24

Despite a win over ACC champ Virginia, and two competitive losses to Harvard and Wisconsin, the Green Bay Phoenix with a record of 24-6 did not make the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Green Bay lost to Milwaukee, 73-66 in OT, in the Horizon League Tournament championship.

T-5. Belmont - 24

The Belmont Bruins went 24-9, including a 83-80 win over North Carolina, but did not make the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Belmont lost to Eastern Kentucky, 79-73, in the Ohio Valley Tournament championship game.

T-5. Boston University - 24

The Boston University Terriers went 24-10 but did not make the 2014 NCAA Tournament. BU, who beat Maryland, 83-77 this season, lost to American, 55-36, in the Patriot League Tournament championship game in what was probably the worst played league championship game this season.

T-5. IPFW - 24

The Mastadons from IPFW (Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne) also went 24-10 this season but did not make the 2014 NCAA Tournament. IPFW lost to North Dakota State, 60-57, in the Summit League championship game.

T-5. Middle Tennessee - 24
