Michigan is projected to be a No.2 seed by bracket experts.

Jerry Palm also reported that the selection committee will begin meeting this morning. They will be getting down to business and figuring the first few seed lines, as the major conference tournaments commence this afternoon.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs are projected to be a No. 11 seed by Jerry Palm. Gonzaga beat BYU by 11 points in the WCC championship game. Led by Sam Dower’s 20 points and 13 rebounds, the Bulldogs used a dominant first half to earn the automatic bid.

UW Milwaukee knocked off Wright State on their home court in a huge conference upset. The Panthers led from the opening tip and took a 24-9 lead early in the game. Although they finished 5th in the Horizon League, Milwaukee won 21 games this season. They are projected to be a No. 15 seed.

North Dakota State is one of the few No.1 seeds to win their conference tournament. They held off IPFW in a gritty game. Jerry Palm has the Bison projected as a 12 seed. Taylor Braun led the comeback with clutch shot making in the final seconds.

Mount St. Mary’s needed a win just to get to .500 on the season. Fortunately for the Mountaineers, that win gave them the NEC title and a spot in the NCAA tournament. Their final game was by far the easiest of the whole tournament.

Other than the newly minted automatic bids, there wasn’t any movement from the rest of college basketball.

Xavier, Arkansas, Providence, Tennessee are projected to be the last four teams in the field.

Minnesota, Missouri, California, and Georgetown are listed as the first four out.
