The updated AP rankings for College basketball were released on Monday and the same 25 teams from last week are representing this week’s poll. In fact, according to sportsline.com, the top eight teams remain unchanged. A lot of that was due to light schedule during finals week.
Arizona is number one for the second consecutive week. The Wildcats had a big road win at Michigan. They continue to come up big in close games.
Syracuse stayed at number two fresh off of their victory over St. Johns.
Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Michigan State still round out the top five.
The only difference in the top 10 is minimal. Villanova hopped over Connecticut to form a tie at the eighth spot with Duke.
Other notable teams
Wichita State is having their best start ever with 10 straight wins, and they come in at number 11.
Kentucky dropped all the way to number 19 after suffering their third loss of the season. On Saturday they lost to high rising North Carolina. The Tarheels moved up to number 14.
Kansas walloped New Mexico on Saturday, but it didn’t stop them from dropping to number 18.
Kentucky has lost three times, but they still find themselves in the top 20 at number 19.
