College Baseball Examiner All-Americans announced

(AP Photo)

Before the Super Regionals begin Friday, I thought it would be best to announce the list of the first annual College Baseball Examiner All-Americans.

The players are divided into First Team and Second Team selections - unlike other All-American selections there is no Third Team or Honorable Mention.

For each team, I have chosen five starting pitchers, one relief pitcher and one player at each position including a player who splits time in the field and on the mound.

The College Baseball Examiner National Player of the Year honors go to North Carolina's Dustin Ackley. Ackley just missed hitting .400 on the season (.399) with 20 homers and a dozen stolen bases for good measure.

The National Pitcher of the Year honors go to both Mike Leake and Stephen Strasburg. Leake led the Sun Devils weekend rotation with 14 wins and six complete games. Strasburg, went undefeated in the regular season and led the NCAA with 180 strikeouts. Both pitchers posted 1.24 ERA's.

Now without further adieu, here are the College Baseball Examiner All-Americans for 2009.
