Crosby's Taylor Cole kept the Porter Lady Spartans in check with 13 strikeouts and Ariel Clogston powered the offense with six rbi's in a 9-0 win.
Abby Walker's line drive double in the first scoring Alyssa Touchet from third giving Cole all the run support she needed in Porter in Tuesday night.
Porter's only real scoring threat came in the bottom of the second. The Lady Spartans loaded the bases with two outs but could not dent the plate.
In the third, Crosby broke the game open with a four run outburst. Kaitlyn Stebelton reached on an error, stole second and stole third to get things going. Touchet walked to give the Lady Cougars runners at first and third before Clogston clubbed a three run home run to give Crosby a 4-0 lead. Walker followed witrh another homerun and the game was all but over at 5-0.
Three consecutive hits by Jamie Hofmann, Stebelton, and Touchet and a wild pitch plated the first of four runs in the fourth for Crosby with one out. With the score 6-0, Clogston cleared the bases with second three run home run of the night.
Cole finished the night scattering five hits securing Crosby's eleventh win of the season.
Next up for Crosby is a trip to Barbers Hill to face the number one team in Texas 4A softball. In their first meeting, Crosby and the Lady Eagles battled for eleven innings before Barebrs Hill eked out a 2-1 victory.
