Coldspring slips by Liberty 5-4

The Liberty Lady Panthers led a District 22-3A game slip away falling to Coldspring 5-4.

Liberty's lead-off hitter Andee Geter was hit by the second pitch of the game to get things started for the Lady Panthers. Allison Meche singled and Kaylee Parker reached on an error scoring Geter with the game's first run. Three batters later, Katie Harris stroked a two out two run double scoring Meche and Parker.

Clodspring came back with single tallies in the first and second to close within a run at 3-2.

A sacrifice fly by Geter to score Madison Cook gave Liberty a two run advantage at 4-2 in the fourth.

Coldspring responded scoring in the fifth and sixth to tie the game before pushing the game winner across in the eighth.

Two hits by Meche and Kaitlin slack paced the Liberty ten hit attack.

Slack pitched into the eighth for Liberty surrendering seven hits with four strikeouts and two earned runs.

The loss dropped Liberty's overall record to 9-9 as they travel to Tarkington to face the Lady Horns on March 19. First picth is slated for 6;30p.m.

Liberty concludes its three game road trip on Friday Mar. 22 with a stop in Splendora before returning home for a key district match-up with Huffman on Mar. 26 at 6:30p.m.
