It’s easy to stay in the saddle year round! With the right equipment and friendly company, there’s no reason to put your bike in the basement when winter hits. Check out Cycle Toronto's winter riding and gear tips for more on riding all year long, and grab a pair of Cycle Toronto socks to keep warm!
During a typical Toronto winter, blizzards or ice storms are the exception, not the rule. Most cyclists legitimately avoid travel during extreme conditions. On any other winter day, though, cycling obstacles are not snow and ice, but rather cold temperatures and wind. By dressing well and having the right amount of determination, year-round cyclists can enjoy using their bikes while feeling comfortable and warm!
Celebrate and support winter cycling by joining other cold weather enthusiasts at noon on Wednesday, January 30th for the Coldest Day of the Year Ride, a short, comfortable, car-free group ride starting from the back of City Hall.
BIXI Special
Don't have a bike available for the ride? No problem! BIXI members will get free extra usage time and there are limited reservations for non-BIXI members to test a BIXI bike for free on this ride. Reserve yours by emailing siva.v@cycleto.ca by January 25th!
