High pressure will continue to build across the region today. There will be just enough moisture flux from the lake to produce some light lake effect snow showers across the area this morning, but conditions should improve this afternoon.

With clear skies and calm winds tonight, temperatures will fall to very low readings.

With the high in control, we will see plenty of sunshine Wednesday as temperatures slowly moderate.

A storm will pass to the east of the region Thursday, and this could spread some high clouds across the area, but I am still expecting a fairly decent day. Highs will approach the freezing mark on Thursday.

Here is the forecast: For today, a chance of snow showers this morning, then partly sunny. Highs will be in the mid teens. Winds W 5 mph.

Tonight, clear with lows -3 to -10. Winds calm.

Wednesday, mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 20s. Winds SE 5 mph.

Wednesday night, mostly clear with lows in the single digits.

Thursday, partly cloudy with highs in the low 30s.

Looking ahead: A storm will track to our north on Friday, dragging a cold front across the state. There will be a chance of snow Friday with highs reaching the mid to upper 20s.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Highs will be around 20.

Another system will move quickly across the region on Sunday bringing another round of snow. Highs will be in the mid 20s.
