Cold today, but turning milder again for Friday

Cold air will continue to spread across the area today. A few light lake effect snow streamers continue to impact northern Ohio this morning, but this activity will diminish and end by early afternoon. Most locations will see some sunshine this afternoon.

A warm front will approach the area tonight and lift northward across the state on Friday. A few light rain or snow showers could accompany this front Friday. It will be mild Friday afternoon with highs approaching 50 degrees.

The warm front will be quickly followed by the passage of a cold front late Friday night or early Saturday. Scattered rain and snow showers are likely Friday night through Saturday morning. It will turn colder by Saturday afternoon as high pressure builds back across the area.

Here is the forecast: For today, partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers, mainly during the morning. Highs will reach the upper teens to low 20s. Winds NW 10-20 mph. Wind chills -10 to -20.

Tonight, partly cloudy with lows around 15. Winds S 5-10 mph.

Friday, partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower. Highs will be near 50 degrees. Winds S 15-25 mph.

Friday night, mostly cloudy with scattered rain and snow showers. Lows will be around 30.

Saturday, mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow showers. Highs will be around 40.

Extended Analysis: Cold high pressure will build across the region Sunday and Monday bringing fair weather along with chilly temperatures,

Clouds will increase Tuesday along with the threat of rain or snow showers as a storm approaches the lower Great Lakes.

Sunday, partly sunny with highs in the upper 20s.

Sunday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the low to mid teens.

Monday will be partly sunny. Highs will reach the upper 20s to low 30s.

Monday night will be mostly cloudy with lows in the mid to upper teens.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers. Highs will climb to around 40 degrees.
