Happy New Year 2010!
Very cold temperatures will begin to invade Northern Florida Friday night. Temperatures will become even colder by the beginning of next week.
Hard freeze warnings and watches are in place for Friday night, and will be in affect each evening through Wednesday night. Especially for inland areas outside the metropolitan areas and away from the St. John's River and beaches.
Lows will get into the upper teens well inland by Monday night.
This is a shot of Arctic air, the coldest of the season so far. With this, we are reminded to protect our plants, water pipes, and bring in pets.
Our next chance of rain here in North Florida isn't until Thursday. Due to the low humidities and cold temperatures, we will be under a red flag warning.
