Young pop singer Colbie Caillat captured the first two Grammys of her career last night at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.

Caillat's first win came during the afternoon non-televised ceremony. She won Best Pop Vocal Collaboration with Jason Mraz for their hit "Lucky."

Caillat was present at the ceremony and expressed her excitement in her speech: "This is my first Grammy. I'm gonna cry!"

Caillat explained how she and Mraz composed the song. "We actually wrote this song together over e-mail," she said. "We had never met each other before."

Caillat was actually nominated twice in the same category. "Lucky" was competing against "Breathe," her collaboration with Taylor Swift. Other nominees in that category included Bruce Springsteen, Norah Jones, and Justin Timberlake.

Caillat later won another Grammy when Taylor Swift took home the big prize for Album of the Year for Fearless. Because Caillat was a featured artist on the album, she receives a Grammy as well, even though she only sang on one song on the record.

Caillat's two wins gave her an impressive showing at the Grammy Awards. We underestimated her - our prediction had been that she would win one award.

Good for her. Did you notice how awful Taylor Swift sounded last night? When you are singing with Stevie Nicks, oyu best bring your "A" game!
