Colbert-Busch ads hit television this week

Local TV has been littered of late with political ads from many Republican campaigns, but they all seem all-too similar.

Elizabeth Colbert-Busch's first video advertisement, which begins airing today, makes those GOP commercials seem rather pale, however.

While their ads promote how much each has been able to do for himself and his own benefit, Colbert-Busch's tells of how much she's already done for voters in this region.

“I’ve spent 20 years using our ports to create jobs selling American products made by American workers," she says in the video (see below).

"I know what it takes to create new jobs.”

That comment refers to her work history. She was director of sales and marketing in the South Atlantic region for Port of Charleston user OOCL. At Clemson’s Restoration Institute, she’s director of business development with its Wind Turbine Drivetrain Testing Facility, the largest of its kind in the world. In both positions did she aid new employment in the area, as well as new global trade from the port.

The campaign has other television ads to release later in the election cycle, too, says campaign adviser Ann Beser.
