The Coke Super Bowl ad 2013 edition features cowboys, showgirls and bikers rather than the traditional polar bears. This year's spot from Coca-Cola will also be interactive.
The Huffington Post reported on Jan. 22 that the theme of this year's Coke ad is which team is the first to retrieve a Coke bottle mirage: the Cowboys, the Bandlanders, or the Showgirls. Viewers are able to vote online starting on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the CokeChase.com website to help determine the winners of the race.
There's more effort from companies during this year's televised Super Bowl ads to get people to make their ads go viral online. Companies including Proctor & Gamble and Kraft Foods have leaked "teasers" for their ads, in an attempt to get internet users to share them via social media sites.
Speaking of social media, Twitter is also cashing in on the big game, as they will be increasing the prices for a "promoted trend" ad buy on their microblogging website. So now, companies won't only be paying loads of money for Super Bowl ads to run during the game on TV, but also to promote themselves online.
Super Bowl 2013 is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 3, with a start time of 6:30 p.m. EST on local CBS affiliate station WDBJ 7 in Roanoke. The Coke Super Bowl ad 2013 can be seen here at YouTube.com.
