In our fast paced modern society, who doesn’t enjoy the caffeine boost that coffee has to offer? If you’re a fan of the stimulating effects of coffee, but you can’t stand the bitter, acidic flavor that come with coffee, why not try coffee on a lighter note in the form of a cake? You can still obtain all the potential benefits that coffee has to offer without putting your delicate taste-buds through the ringer.
There are two very different forms of coffee cake: a type of cake that is palatable with coffee, which is often consumed along with coffee, and a type of cake that either contains coffee/coffee beans or coffee flavoring.
The first type of coffee cake mentioned does not necessarily contain any form of coffee (bean or flavoring), and is often a form of coffee cake that true coffee lovers enjoy dunking their espresso or regular cup of Joe into for a pleasant morning meal or a gathering with friends and/or family. If you find that you’re not a true coffee lover then this form of cake might suit you, just as long as you don’t pair it up with an 8oz cup of coffee.
The second type of coffee cake mentioned does, for the most part, contain either a coffee flavoring or coffee itself. However, if you’re not a fan of coffee, don’t let this news deter you from trying a slice; usually, this form of coffee cake contains lighter, softer notes of that universal flavor associated with coffee, so it’s not as bitter and it’s usually sweeter in taste.
