Plain black coffee contains roughly two calories per cup by itself, though black coffee is essentially calorie free. By drinking black coffee, it can give you an energy boost without the calories. The problem most people have is the taste. They can't stand the taste of plain old coffee so they add cream, milk and sugar to black coffee, and the calories start to shoot through the roof! Fancy lattes and other creamy, sugary coffee drinks contain hundreds of calories. Since coffee has caffeine but no calories it can assist in weight loss but obviously it is not a magical cure. The combination of black coffee along with proper diet and exercise is a strong start to weight loss success.
Always check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise regimen to make sure you are medically able to participate. Only your doctor can determine how much exercise is safe for you. Starting an exercise program that is more strenuous than you are ready for can result in injury and serious medical problems.
