Drinking coffee with cream, sugar, black, milk, and so on are ways of the traditional drinking style. However, has anyone thought of mixing coffee and tea (another caffeinated drink) together? This idea is the same as having food fusion!- European-Asian fusion?
For coffee and tea mix, perhaps it can be called the Yuanyang drink as what it is known together. This drink first gain its popularity in Hong Kong. The name Yuanyang refers to Mandarin Ducks, which is a symbol of conjugal love in the Chinese culture. YuanYang is used to describe this same ideology (i.e. a pairing of the unlike items).
Apparently, in Hong Kong's Starbucks, there is a new version of frappuccino, called the "Yuen Yueng Frappucino Blended Cream".
So, does it go good together? Yes, it does! It has a unique taste but it is not something out of the ordinary. It is both the coffee bitterness and tea's leafy smell. Having it hot or cold does not matter, tastes just as good. Give it a try, half cup of black coffee and half cup of English tea, stir it together and drink it up!
