Just outside of Orlando, very near Walt Disney World, there is a relatively new shopping center which contains a cute little coffee shop called My French Café. In fact, the café isn’t very small at all, but includes plenty of seating both inside and out, which is great because the shop can get incredibly busy; especially on a Saturday morning.
The inside of the café is decorated very subtly, not completely overdoing the amount of Eiffel Towers or other French monuments on display. None of the artwork on the walls takes away from the artwork within the display cases, drawing your eye to the colorful and elaborately decorated pastries. You’re not only immediately greeted by these savory sights, but the friendly staff is always happy to welcome you to their store, answering any questions you may have and waiting patiently as they offer suggestions of what new or different items you may like to try.
The menu includes Panini, crepes, salads, quiches, focaccia, many different kinds of pastries and Danishes, and, most importantly, fresh baguettes made from scratch every morning. After all, how can you truly trust a French café if it doesn't make baguettes? You may be surprised to find out there are several out there that only serve pre-made baguettes or do not serve them at all.
Aside from the food menu, My French Café has a coffee and smoothie menu as well. The coffee menu is not very extensive, offering five different choices: coffee, decaf, cappuccino, latte, and espresso. The coffee itself is good, as if by design the owners did not want the coffee to take away from the taste of the food. It truly depends on how milky you like your coffee, both the cappuccino and latte tasted more like milk than usual.
Though it may be further than you generally like to travel for good food, My French Café is definitely worth it. You can check it out on 7782 Winter Garden Vineland Road Suite 100, Windermere, FL, 34786 between the hours of 8 AM to 7:30 PM Tuesday through Saturday and 8 AM to 5:30 PM Sunday. It is closed on Mondays.
