Cody Simpson is the latest victim of the online leaks that continue to plague the music business. On Sunday morning the entertainer made lemonade out of lemons by letting his fans know the music was released due to the online leak and gave a first listen to the fans. The song, Ay Na Na, is Cody Simpson along with Jessica Jarrell and was expected to be on his album when released next year, that was before someone ruined it by posting it online on Saturday.
While leaks have taken some stars by surprise, Cody Simpson apparently decided to directly announce the leak. Plus he offered an official way to hear the music to his fans so the people who mattered knew first. It’s a smart decision as then nobody will wonder if the music is a remix or made up.
“Not sure how this song leaked, but since it's out I hope you enjoy it. Featuring Jessica Jarrell,” wrote Cody Simpson to the fans. The posting also included the direct link to the music posted online.
As a victim of leaks and online remixes, the idea of sharing the music early, especially around Christmas time, might be a tough decision. Always faithful to his fans, Simpson’s decision puts the music into the hands of those who love it most and when his album comes out, there are sure to be plenty of fans lined up to pick up a copy.
Take a listen to the track on the audio box. It’s a catchy tune that will have everyone bopping around as it’s a great music for a Sunday afternoon.
