With Spring Break now in full swing, it might be a great time to head to one of Central Florida's famed attrations an celebrate like it's Fat Tuesday all over again! This week, Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras celebration continues featuring live performances by Australian teen pop singer Cody Simpson and British-American rock band Foreigner. Both concerts begin promptly at 8:30 p.m.
The weekend kicks off Friday, March 14, with a performance by Cody Simpson, best known for his singles “All Day” and “On My Mind.” The next night, legendary band Foreigner will take to the Music Plaza Stage to perform some of their classic hits including, “For The First Time,” and the worldwide No. 1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is.”
For 2014, the “N’awlins”-inspired, family-friendly version of Mardi Gras runs on select nights through May 31. It includes awesome opportunities to party like you're on Bourbon Street, without some of the gratuitous nudity and over the top drunkenness you might find in Louisiana.
Guests can catch colorful beads by the handful during the festive Mardi Gras parade at 7:45 p.m., which features 12 vibrant floats, including three new additions celebrating Jules Verne’s novel, “Around the World in 80 Days.” They can also visit Universal Studios Florida’s very own French Quarter Courtyard starting at 4:00 p.m. to enjoy authentic Cajun cuisine and see performances by bands pulled straight from Bourbon Street.
The excitement of Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras celebration is included with admission to Universal Studios Florida.
