The developer will use the console's cloud infrastructure to host dedicated servers, a first for the series on consoles. No word on whether the Playstation 4 version will have the same feature.
Dedicated servers have been one of the most sought out features by "Call of Duty" gamers for some time now. If implemented properly, this could lead to smoother online matches with less lag and latency.
In addition, the studio showed off a new multiplayer mode, Blitz. Described as an objective-based gametype similar to capture the flag, players fight to reach the opposite teams' capture point. Blitz is the latest in a line of new gametypes being added to the series for the first time.
Before the presentation ended, Microsoft announced a "Call of Duty: Ghosts" Xbox One bundle will be released in Europe at launch. The bundle will feature exclusive content. Pricing information was not revealed, though this could be the major third-party bundle -- originally believed to be "FIFA '14" related -- hinted at earlier this week.
