CocoonCare is the first one-of-a-kind space and facility focuses on holistic health and wellness for moms-to-be and beyond in Chicago's River West area. CocoonCare is the brainchild of Healthy Moms® Certified owner and parents, Kiran Advani and Alok Jhamnani, takes a holistic approach when it comes to maternal health and well-being.
When Kiran was expecting, she was disappointed in the lack of available alternative options when it came to caring for the expecting and postpartum mom. She wanted to feel connected with other moms who were in the same phases of life as she was, but was also wanting open-minded options in caring for her needs.
Kiran was also seeking alternative options in terms of how to care for her baby. For example, what are other options to treat ear infections to getting valuable advice to get her baby to really sleep through the night. She had to seek expert advice outside her doctor's office and that became a time consuming process.
She envisioned a one stop shop where expecting moms and new moms can get information from prenatal nutrition, fitness classes, labor and delivery to infant care and postpartum recovery. All of which will be available as workshops and on-going classes.
Both Kiran and her husband, Alok went through the nationally recognized and accredited Healthy Moms®Fitness and Wellness training. A company that trains allied health care professionals and fitness professionals about how to train, teach and care for perinatal population.
They found the training to be a valuable resource in how they run their business. Every trainer hired and works there has undergone the Healthy Moms®Fitness training. This gives a peace of mind to all expecting moms that their trainers are not only certified trainers, but have had comprehensive training in perinatal health and fitness.
