Everybody knows that prohibition was a huge thorn in the side of the bartender; however, did you know that a few of the famous cocktails of today came out of the decade of prohibition. The following are all drink recipes that came from the bartender of prohibition times.
Drink name - Mary Pickford

French 75
  • 2 oz of white rum
  • 1 oz of pineapple juice
  • dash of grenadine
  • dash of maraschino liqueur

Drink name- French 75

  • 1 oz of gin
  • 1/2 oz of simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • A dry Champagne or white wine
  • lemon garnish to twist

Drink name - Barbary Coast Bee's Knees

  • 2 oz of rum
  • 1 oz of lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp of honey
  • No garnish

Drink name - The Side Car


  • 1 1/2 oz of Cognac or bourbon
  • 1 oz of Cointreau or triple sec
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • lemon twist for garnish
  • sugar for rimming

Drink name - Colony Cocktail

  • 1 1/2 oz of gin
  • 3/4 oz grapefruit juice
  • 2 teaspoons maraschino cherries
