Coca-Cola addiction death: Woman dies from heart failure, caffeine overdose (Photos)

A woman addicted to Coca-Cola died of heart failure after drinking more than two gallons of Coke a day for an undetermined period of time.

New Zealand's TVNZ reports that Natasha Harris was just 31 when she died of what a coroner stated was "cardiac arrhythmia likely brought on from consuming too much caffeine."

Reports indicate that she drank so much Coca-Cola that her teeth rotted and at least one of her eight children was born without enamel on their teeth.

Harris' partner spoke to TVNZ and stated that the young woman who died from a Coca-Cola addiction would drink nothing but the sugary soda and experienced withdrawal symptoms when she didn't drink it.

"The symptoms Natasha had complained of in the months before her death - describing nausea, vomiting and a racing heart-beat - were indicative of someone who consumes high doses of caffeine." - TVNZ

How much caffeine do you consume on a daily basis and are you at risk for being over-caffeinated?

A cup coffee has the most caffeine with approximately 47-164 milligrams per 5 ounce serving, depending on how it's brewed.

A 5 oz. serving of black tea can have anywhere from 25 to 110 milligrams of caffeine, while a 12 oz. serving of Coca-Cola contains 46 milligrams.

That leaves coffee in the lead for caffeine content per ounce, but if you drink two gallons of Coca-cola a day like Natasha Harris did, or over-consume coffee, you will be putting your health at risk.
