Coburn opens the scoring in leading Philadelphia to the second round

Calgary native Braydon Coburn was the first Philadelphia Flyer to get things rolling last night in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Buffalo Sabres.

With nineteen seconds left in the first period, Coburn received a pass from Daniel Briere and took a slapshot from the point that went off former Edmonton Oiler Mike Grier's glove, and past Ryan Miller and into the net.

The Flyers won the game 5-2 and knocked off the Sabres 4-3 in the series.

Coburn was also a +2, with three shots, four block shots and a hit.

The goal was Coburn's first of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs and second of his playoff career. He previously scored the game winning goal in Game One of the 2010 Eastern Conference Finals, in a 6-0 Philadelphia Flyer win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Next up for Philadelphia will either be the Pittsburgh Penguins, Tampa Bay Lightning or Boston Bruins. If Boston defeats Montreal in Game Seven of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal this evening, the Flyers will host the Bruins in Game One of the Eastern Conference semi-final. However if Montreal happens to beat Boston, then Philadelphia will play the Game Seven winner of the Tampa Bay Lightning/Pittsburgh Penguins game tonight.
