Cobie Smulders talks of Agent Maria Hill in 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' and 'Captain America'

According to IGN as reported on Jan. 27, 2013, Cobie Smulders, who plays Agent Maria Hill in "The Avengers", was a big hit and have left fans wondering about Agent Maria Hill's future in the Marvel cinematic universe.

As of now, Joss Whedon is heading off the S.H.I.E.L.D TV series, but has hardly any characters from the Marvel movies that will be in the show. The only actor currently slated to be in "S.H.I.E.L.D." is Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson.

Some might wonder that if the series gets picked up by the network, Marvel characters could very well start appearing in the show. The decision to keep the "S.H.I.E.L.D." TV show separate from the Marvel movie universe. It was earlier reported on IGN that the show takes place after the catastrophic event that took place in "The Avengers" movie and after the apparent death of Agent Coulson.

Currently, no one is entirely sure that "Aunt Robin" will be appearing in "S.H.I.E.L.D." as a regular, but could be speculated that she'd be a reoccurring guest. Smulders will be still continue into Season 9 of "How I Met Your Mother".

Smulders will be starring in "Captain America: Winter Soldier" as well come 2014. She will be appearing along with Samuel L. Jackson who plays Nick Fury. Smulders is tentatively slated to start shooting in March or June, but only seen bits and pieces of the script.

“This is Marvel! They don’t let you know anything," the actress said. "It’s very watermarked scripts, heavily watermarked. Yeah, they don’t let you know like the day of, but they are very secretive and I think they are still figuring stuff out."

According to Comic Book, when asked about the longevity of the Maria Hill character, she stated that she would "do Maria Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it".

She also said she'd more than willing to go from the Marvel cinematic universe to partake in the "S.H.I.E.L.D." TV series and she's currently in the works with the network to make it so.
