Cobb County offers text alert service to prepare parents for school closings

Parents of students at Addison Elementary, Kennesaw Charter, Walton High School and other schools within the Cobb County School district, may want to sign up to receive free mobile alerts about school closings.

To sign up, parents simply text CCSD to 84700. They can opt-out from receiving the text alerts at any time by replying with "STOP" to any of the text messages, or "HELP" if they need assistance. Message and/or data rates may apply.

The free service is being offered by the Cobb County School district to ensure parents are notified of inclement weather, school closings or other important information impacting Cobb County School.

Parents who subscribe may receive up to a maximum of eight messages per month.
