A Cobb County firefighter was arrested today for allegedly beating up his wife, Channel 2 Action News reports.

According to the Cobb County arrest warrant, Lt. Joseph Bennett is accused of throwing his wife to the floor several times on Sunday evening, while the couple was staying at downtown Atlanta's Omni Hotel. Per Cobb police, his wife is legally blind.

Bennett is also accused of grabbing the back of his wife's head and slamming her down so severely that it broke her nose. As of now, he has been placed on administrative leave by Cobb County fire officials.

Per his arrest and booking report, Bennett has been charged with one felony count of terroristic threats and acts. He's currently in the Cobb County jail on a $5,720 bond.
