FM 98 WJLB hosted their 2013 Coats for Kids fundraiser partnered with The Salvation Army at the Detroit Science Center in downtown Detroit. This event is all about raising money and awareness to the inner city children in need of warm coats for the winter. People came in droves to donate new and gently used jackets for children. Mayoral Candidate Benny Napoleon came by showing his support. Detroit’s new mayor Mike Duggan actually opened the donations with a very generous contribution. FM 98 WJLB was also able to gain celebrity attention with the Music Industry. Say It Ain’t Tone, Rico Love, Adubb da Gawd, Ciara and Mario were just a few of the artist that wanted to show their support for Detroit’s youth. Coats for kids is definitely one of the more uplifting events that take place with in the city of Detroit and it shows the world that we as Detroiters are dedicated to helping our youth survive and become productive members of society. Every child should have a warm winter.
