One of the most important environmental events of the year will be held throughout the State of California on Saturday, September 21. The Coastal Cleanup Day is a state-wide concerted effort to cleanup the waters of the state.

Locally, the Alamitos Bay effort is headed for the second consecutive year by Seal Beach Yacht Club. Volunteers will meet at the Club (255 Marina Drive, Long Beach) at 9 AM. The cleanup will allow participants to walk the docks, use their boat, prowl the beach or wander the surfline.

From 9 to noon, the cleanup groups will pick up the trash and debris along the coast or in the water. At the end of the event, all participants will return to Seal Beach Yacht Club for a free lunch.

The Coastal Cleanup is an event for both individuals and families. It's a time to show an appreciation of our aquatic environment and have fun with others while doing so.
