Garth Watson, 24 of Red Bank, New Jersey has made a concerted effort to dash across America, in an effort to assist with fund raising for Stand up to Cancer. Watson is no stranger to running. In fact, he ran track in both high school and college.

Watson began his trek on the 11th of this month and began in Oceanside, California. He is intending to complete the task in New York City on August the 15th. He will pass through ten states, 3,000 miles and 10 pairs of sneakers. Watson's father, Frank, will be supporting his son's endeavors by following along with him in an RV.

This is not Watson's first time for an extreme long distance run. He once ran across the state of Pennsylvania to raise money for a new track to be built at the high school, which he attended. This was a 426 mile run and he completed it in 24 days.

If you wish to support Mr. Watson, you may do so here.
