Coach House Theatre opens 'Danny and the Deep Blue Sea'

Coach House Theatre in Akron opened last night with their newest production, "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" The show will continue tonight and tomorrow, April 1 and 2. Show times are 8:00 p.m .

"Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" is the first of Coach House's "Artist's Choice: Black Box Series," plays designed with minimal sets. The play is a contemporary drama about Danny and Roberta, two damaged people that find comfort in one another. This show was written by John Patrick Shanley, who wrote Acadamy Award winner "Moonstruck," and Pulitzer and Tony Award winner "Doubt: A Parable."

This performance is directed by Sarah Coon, and stars Tess Burgler and Joe Pine. It is not part of the Coach House subscription series.

Admission is only $5 for general admission, and is free for students that present a student ID. For more information and to make reservations you can contact Coach House Theatre at 330-434-7741, or by visiting their website, Seating is limited, so reservations are required.

Coach House Theatre is located at 732 West Exchange Street in Akron, on the corner of West Exchange and North Portage Path, Next to the Akron Woman's City Club.
