Coach Bruce Arena of the LA Galaxy has been suspended for one game for stepping into the field during play in the last match when the Galaxy lost to the Portland Timbers last weekend.

As reported by the Los Angeles Galaxy official webpage on Friday, Bruce Arena has been given a one-game ban by the MLS Disciplinary Committee.

Arena was accused of leaving his technical area during stoppage time of the second half for the Timbers and Galaxy game from last weekend.

The LA Galaxy lost that match against the Timbers in Portland by a goal. Arena was actually protesting a Galaxy goal that was annulled by the linesmen in stoppage time.

Irish forward Robbie Keane made the goal coming from a free kick. However, Keane was ruled offsides, and the tying goal was taken away from the Galaxy.

Arena’s punishment will require to stay away from the sideline, coaching his team, and the locker room during halftime for this Sunday’s game against Chivas USA.

The match against Chivas USA is the third and final SuperClasico match for 2013's season.
