Co-defendants in child molestation case from Polk and Paulding Counties

Polk County Sheriff's deputies arrested two men from different counties on Monday as co-defendants in a child molestation case in Polk County.

The allegations against the men were said to have occurred in December of 2013.

Quinton Darrell Desouza, 22, of Dallas was arrested at his address on East Paulding Drive on warrants charging him with child molestation and statutory rape.

Travis Lavon Ferrell, 21, of Rockmart was arrested at his address on Old Cedartown Road on warrants charging him with child molestation, statutory rape and sodomy.

The men are charged according to Georgia statute 16-6-4, with committing the offense of child molestation by committing immoral and indecent acts to a child under the age of 16 and statutory rape according to Georgia statute 16-6-3 by engaging in sexual intercourse with any person under the age of 16.

Ferrell is also charged according to Georgia statute 16-6-2 with committing the offense of sodomy.

Both men remain in custody with bond denied at the time of this publication.
