CNN and NBC cave to GOP pressure and drop Hillary Clinton specials

CNN and NBC announced today that they will not produce their specials on Hillary Clinton.

When both projects were announced Reince Priebus, the Chairman of the Republican National Committee threatened CNN and NBC this past August saying that if you do not cancel your Hillary Clinton projects, we will exclude you from hosting any of the 2016 GOP Presidential Debates.

"If you have not agreed to pull this programming prior to the start of the RNC's Summer Meeting on August 14, I will seek a binding vote of the RNC stating that the committee will neither partner with you in 2016 primary debates nor sanction primary debates which you sponsor," Preibus wrote to the networks.

Two weeks after his censorship demands, Preibus held an election at the RNC Summer Meeting to exclude both CNN and NBC from hosting any of their 2016 GOP Presidential Debates, and both were eliminated from hosting any of the debates.

NBC today released a statement saying that "after reviewing and prioritizing" we are no longer moving forward with the project.

"After reviewing and prioritizing our slate of movie/miniseries development, we've decided that we will no longer continue developing the Hillary Clinton miniseries," NBC said in a statement. Though the project had been in development, with no definitive plan to air, it had been widely expected to be fast-tracked, NBC executives said when the project was announced in August.

In the CNN statement they said that the director of the film Charles Ferguson would not be “moving forward with his documentary about Hillary Clinton.”

CNN's statement said Ferguson "has informed us that he is not moving forward with his documentary about Hillary Clinton. Charles is an Academy Award-winning director who CNN Films was excited to be working with, but we understand and respect his decision." CNN said it "won't seek other partners and are not proceeding with the film."

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Ferguson said "nobody, and I mean nobody, was interested in helping me make this film,” including Hillary Clinton.

The RNC has sent out fundraiser Emails which said:

This August, nearly 60,000 of you lent your support and pressured CNN and NBC to cancel their pro-Clinton propaganda pieces.

Today, the liberal media folded.

The decisions by CNN & NBC are proof of what we can achieve when thousands of conservatives unite together towards a single cause.

The Republican National Committee demanded censorship of the films, then CNN and NBC caved.
