CMT announced today (Oct. 16, 2013) the names of the CMT Artists of the Year that will be honored on December 3, 2013 in a live televised special.

The honorees for 2013 are Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes, and Tim McGraw. The special show, CMT Artists of the Year, will be a 90 minute special that will air live for the first time in history.

The honorees selected for the 2013 Artists of the Year are artists with the most radio play, album sales, and largest number of downloads of hit singles, as well as videos streaming online and sold out concerts all across the United States.

Jason Aldean has had the honor of receiving this award every year since the award has been presented. Luke Bryan was one of the recipients of the award last year. Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes and Tim McGraw are all first time recipients of the CMT Artist of the Year Award.

Although Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are all previous winners, this year's list of award winners failed to name a female for the award.

Tune in to CMT on December 3, 2013 to see these musicians receive their award and also some great country music performances.
