New York City's CMJ Music festival announced their full 2013 festival lineup today, Friday October 4, via the festival's Twitter account. The music festival is shaping up to be an exhaustive five days of exciting music showcases and panels for both fans and industry insiders.
The line-up is stacked with hundreds of bands and artists that'll be spread out across more than 80 venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn. A few highlighted music showcases include Father John Misty, Braid, Real Estate, Talib Kwali, Dismemberment Plan, Savages, Caged Animals, Glasser, Au Revoir Simone, Speedy Ortiz, as well as hundreds of other up-and-coming acts.
This year, CMJ is offering an affordable showcases-only badge at a fraction of the cost of the usual festival badge. For a mere $159 you can grab the Evening Show Pass through LivingSocial.com. Although this particular pass doesn't include any of the daytime music panels and conferences, it's perfect for concertgoers who just want to see some of these amazing artists that are taking over the city.
If $159 is still a little too steep, earlier today Pitchfork Media also announced an unofficial music event taking place on October 18 and 19. The event will happen in conjunction with CMJ at 285 Kent in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The lineup includes Ryan Hemsworth, Speedy Ortiz, Eleanor Friedberger, Courtney Barnett, Priests, and more. Check out the full showcase schedule here as well as links to purchase tickets. No matter what your financial situation there's a way for everyone to take part in this music explosion one way or another!
