AUGUSTA---- The Central Maine Community College (CMCC) Mustangs built a 5-0 first half lead, and rolled to a 6-1 season opening women's soccer victory over the University of Maine Augusta (UMA) Moose on Sunday afternoon.
Amber Pritchard started the scoring, when she took a pass from Gabrielle Ouellette and put the ball in the back of the net at the 13:05 mark of the first half.
The Mustangs did not take long to put another goal on the scoreboard.
Mariah Larson scored an unassisted goal just 2:34 after the Pritchard goal.
Maggie McConkey scored two goals and had one assist in a 15 minute span to put the game away.
Mikayla Hamilton scored one goal and had one assist during that span.
Sarah Trott scored one goal and had one assist. Pritchard had a second half assist for the Mustangs.
Jenn Lola had five of the six shots on goal for the Moose. Lola scored the lone goal for UMA.
Hannah Champagne recorded saves for the Mustangs. CMCC (1-0) will play their home opener against Unity on Tuesday.
Abigail Peabody recorded 16 saves for the Moose. UMA (0-1) will host the University of Maine at Machias on Wednesday afternoon.
