CMA Songwriters Series heads to U.K. with Chris Young, Kristian Bush and more (Video)

The Nashville-founded CMA Songwriters Series will return to the United Kingdom and Ireland this year, taking Chris Young, Brett James, Kristian Bush of Sugarland and host Bob DiPiero across the pond in the name of country music.

Founded in 2005, this outing of the series will play shows in Dublin, Belfast and London, respectively, on Feb. 21-25, 2013.

Since its inception and inaugural New York City performance, the series has expanded to cities across the U.S., including Boston, Chicago, L.A., Washington, D.C., and Phoenix. The series was first taken to the U.K. in February 2012 and was met with much acclaim.

Oklahoma-bred songwriter Brett James will be among those taking part in the CMA Songwriters Series in the U.K. in February 2013.

“With the successful debut of the CMA Songwriters Series in the U.K. and Ireland (last year), fans across the pond proved that they are passionate about country music,” said Steve Moore, CMA's CEO, in a Jan. 1 missive shared with Examiner.com.

“We look forward to taking this series overseas once again and introducing more of our fantastic songwriters to fans abroad,” he added.
