CM Punk unlikely to appear at WWE Money in the Bank

According to a June 28 report from Fansided, many pro wrestling fans are starting to believe CM Punk will be making his grand return to the WWE with a cameo at this weekend's WWE Money in the Bank card in Boston. With regards to Punk possibly coming out of retirement, there are several reasons why the rumor mill is churning in WWE Universe this week.

First of all, WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio did an interview this week, where he opened up about Punk's future with the WWE. Del Rio was asked straight out if he thought Punk would be back in action in the near future, and he answered with eyebrow-raising honesty. Del Rio said he thought Punk would be back to the WWE soon, which would seem to indicate he has an inside scoop on the situation.

Most other WWE superstars said in recent interviews that they have no idea if Punk will ever return. Del Rio's comments made their rounds on Twitter and Facebook, leading to speculation that Punk might be appearing this weekend at WWE Money in the Bank. The rumors started swirling again just days later, when Punk was spotted jogging alongside his girlfriend, AJ Lee.

Since Punk was photographed while doing some intensive working out, some fans took it as a sign that he's trying hard to get back into wrestling shape. Will Punk be in attendance at WWE Money in the Bank? Even though he won the event twice in the past, there's no way he'll be there.

Punk, 35, hasn't appeared at any WWE house shows since walking away from the promotion in January. He recently got married and he seems very happy in retirement. In fact, world-renowned WWE manager Paul Heyman did a recent interview where he said he's surprised Punk lasted as long as he did because he was legitimately burnt out on performing.

Despite Punk's anticipated absence from the event, WWE Money in the Bank should be a must-watch for hardcore and casual fans alike. Besides two ladder matches, The Usos battle The Wyatt Family in a tag-team championship and Paige puts her WWE Divas belt on the line against Naomi. Elsewhere on the card, Rusev battles Big E and Summer Rae takes on Layla.
