Clutch and Corrosion of Conformity coming to New York in July

Clutch and Corrosion of Conformity have announced plans for a summer US tour, which will kick off right here in New York in July.

Headliners Clutch are no strangers to NYC, having opened for Overkill just two weeks ago (read my review here) and Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society back in October (review here). Corrosion of Conformity, however, have reverted back to their original three man lineup while guitarist Pepper Keenan records and tours with Down (check out my recent interview with Pepper here), and the trio has slowly been making their way around the country.

The two groups will be playing the Brooklyn Bowl on July 20th, in what will be one of the first real metal shows at the bowling alley / concert hall. Clutch will then follow up with a show aboard the Rocks Off Concert Cruise the next day, playing to a sure-to-sell-out crowd as the flagship Temptress cruises around Manhattan - read more about the summer Concert Cruise series here.

The southerny, stonery styles of both bands seems like a great matchup, and is one of the first metal shows to be announced for the heart of summer 2011. The dual dates also works out nicely for those who were planning on hitting up the Motley Crue/Poison concert at Nassau Coliseum, which is also scheduled for July 20th. As always, stay in the loop with the Hard Rock Examiner for further information on tickets and all local rock and heavy metal news by subscribing at the top of this page, or follow me at twitter.com/NYROCKEXAMINER.
