When the Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend takes over Palm Springs, California, March 28 through April 1 it will be returning to its party roots and creator/producer Mariah Hanson plans to make it even bigger and better.
For the first time in six years there will only be one event in town. Girl Bar Dinah, run by Sandy Sachs and Robin Gans, will not be competing for an audience ... they have moved their event to Las Vegas April 27-29.
Some 15,000 women from around the world flock to Palm Springs each year for 5 days of concerts, comedy shows, pool parties and celebrity appearances. This year Dinah-goers can take in the sights and sounds of Grammy Award winning artist Chaka Khan, Pussycat Doll Jessica Sutta, Hip Hopper Rye Rye, double platinum twins Nina Sky, singer Winter Gordon, The Real L World Girls, Chelsea Lately’s Fortune Feimster, Karen Williams in addition to other performers and lots of DJs.
Hanson is especially happy about Khan’s appearance. “Presenting Chaka Khan on my main stage is a lifelong dream of mine. Chaka is a legend and my customers are in for a rare treat. Her decision to bring her full touring band speaks to not only The Dinah’s growing stature as a music festival, but what a rare and magical evening we are all in store for.“
Friday night Emmy-Award-winning actress Meredith Baxter will sit down with comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer for a one-hour question and answer session. Baxter will answer audience questions, pose for photos and sign copies of her autobiography, Untied: A Memoir of Family, Fame and Floundering.
