Clown Shoes (Ipswich, Massachusetts) has a new offering hitting shelves and taps with the release of their latest stout, Bombay Berserker.
Bombay Berserker is an Indian-Style Chocolate Stout that is actually a variant of Clown Shoes' popular Chocolate Sombrero Mexican Chocolate Stout. This time around, the brewer has replaced the Mexican spices of Sombrero with ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and vanilla to give the Berserker its Indian feel. The brewery claims their overall goal for this beer was to "model[ ] it after a masala chai". Here's the full label description to get you more familiar with the Bombay Berserker:
This exotic stout is a relative of Chocolate Sombrero, with Mexican spices replaced by the flavors of chai tea: ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, and vanilla. Dear head banging craft beer drinkers, please remember, "Our love for you is like a truck . . . BERSERKER!"
This beer is available in 22 oz. bombers and on draft, and it has already been seeing some check-ins on Untappd from folks in the Northeast and Midwest. Judging by comments from a Clown Shoes representative on this Facebook post, it looks like this beer will be seeing distribution throughout their distribution network. This means we should see Bombay Berserker in our area soon, so keep an eye out for it in the coming days/weeks.
I happen to be a sucker for stouts, Indian cuisine, and references to cult classic, low budget movies from my youth, so I will definitely be looking forward to landing a bottle of Bombay Berserker. If you share the same interests, keep in mind that Bombay Berserker is a limited offering and will probably go fast. With that said, grab it when you see it and happy hunting. Prost!
