The cloth diaper vs. disposable diaper debate is happening in expectant family households everywhere. Cloth diapers have definitely come a long way and they can definitely be an economical choice. All-in-one, pocket and one-size diapers have made cloth diapering easier and more convenient than ever. Finding a local retailer allows you to compare different styles and brands that appeal to you. Sprout in Brattleboro Vermont offers a monthly cloth diapering workshop. Workshop attendees are given a discount on diaper purchases that day.

If cloth diapering isn't the right choice for your family there are still great ways to diaper in an earth friendly way. A hybrid diapering system such as the gDiaper involves cloth diaper covers with plastic snap-in liners and disposable inserts that are flushable, compostable or trash friendly.

If a traditional disposable is more your style try to find one that is chlorine-free or gel and chlorine-free which are much kinder to our environment. Although it does contain some gel, Seventh Generation makes a fantastic disposable diaper. They are a local company based out of Burlington, VT and although some of their products are made in China and Europe the majority of their facilities are based in North America.
